it is a very clement day (v0.0.4)

Indeed it is and here is our 2nd release in 2016. Some days over, but anyway. What’s new?

  • Revision of the outputlib
  • Added postheating device to transport energy between two buses with different temperature levels
  • Fixed bugs

See the release notes for more details and get the new version at pypi.

Futhermore, we have decided to undertake a major refactoring in April. It will affect the new majorish version to be released after the Developer Meeting in May. For more information on that, contact us on github.

First oemof release 2016: v0.0.3

We released a new version of oemof today. The new version includes some nice features such as the demandlib for calculation of demands, the outputlib for beautiful plots. Additionally the documentation was improved and bugs have been fixed! We implemented a fast-build way for important constraints of the solph-pyomo model. For large models this can be significant faster.

Stay tuned!

Framework concept of oemof inspires discussion about OpenEnergy Platform

At 3rd Open Energy Modelling Workshop design of the OpenEnergy Platform was discussed in a breakout group. This Platform that will be released in 2016 serves as hub for energy system modelers to improve visibility, communication and in general support development open source licensed energy system models.

Oemof and in particular its modular and community based approach contributed valuable input to the discussion about the OpenEnergy Platform.
