Within a scientific exchange between the Center for Sustainable Energy Systems (ZNES) in Flensburg, Germany, and National Laboratory Astana at Nazarbayev University in Astana, Kazakhstan, oemof and the relevance of open modelling and data has been highlighted on a scientific cross-border forum between Kazakhstan and Russia. The forum was organized by Young Researchers Association at First President Foundation of Republic Kazakhstan and held over several days in Astana and Burabay.

Improved website under oemof.org
Yesterday we launched our improved website which now contains a library description, a list of applications and a gallery under the new domain www.oemof.org. We are planning to make this site the central place for people who are interested in oemof by providing a general overview. If you have any questions or suggestions, don’t hesitate to contact us!
Initial release of renpassG!S
This week, the first version of the oemof-application renpassG!S has been released!
renpassG!S is an easy-to-use application designed to model the cost-minimal dispatch of energy supply systems. Technically speaking, it is a so-called numerical partial equilibrium model of a liberalised electricity market often referred to as fundamental model.

The new old version
This release of v0.0.8 includes some bug fixes for the old stable oemof version. Try this update for running projects. For new projects you should check out v0.1beta as this is the future of oemof and includes some major improvements.
